My main wish list items, like new races, kit rebalancing, new kits or the ability to multiclass kits, would make more sense to add to BG:EE.

But for BG2? I might like to see some more of Saemon Havarian, especially if they could acquire his voice actor. Like he needs our help for a quest or something. Of course, he'd be up to his same old tricks.

I'm sure they're already planning to add recruitable NPCs and shore up underrepresented weapons/armor. I hope they add more than one thief, especially since the one I've heard they're adding will be evil.

I would not really want to see another Black Pits. Anything added, I would like to see added to the "in game" game. A new major quest area would be welcome, though.

An item or something to make level drain less of a nuisance would be nice. It is not fun.

Those where possibilities (i would like to keep them all but...), if the intent of dual class is clearly focused in thief priest or thief fighter, just set to 17+ the required stat and lower the others.

And why should dual-class be an option for this NPC when the whole point of introducing her was that evil parties don't have a viable thief?

Not for BG2 EE @PugPug, but something that i TRULY would find awesome that i just remembered now that i saw your post, would be a plain new adventure using the game engine, with no relation with the Bhaal Spawn saga (or at maximum with some hard linked easter eggs).

This would be even more awesome if was an adventure entirely started in underdark, where the races avaliable would be Drow, Duergar (and other dwarven races that live in underdark), svirfneblin, Derro, Kuo-Toa maybe (we have some decent relationship with them in BG2)... among any other interesting suggestion.

That would change the entire social subject as evil would become the current behavior, as try to act too good in social relations could lead to disaster in underdark!

I don't expect too much anymore, and my wishlist is not gonna affect BG2:EE much. I have played it so many times that i don't know if i'm gonna play it again either way, and i would need to see something that catters to my selfish desires to bother i guess.

However, there are many things that could be improved, as long as they can tie up loose ends in some quests and expand some story lines. Like, you remember Kalah? What was promised to him? And by whom? And so on.

The one thing that i would like to see that would fulfill my, as i said, selfish desire, is new or improved sprites for players, but we know at this point it's difficult right?

So moving on to the next best thing, you remember 1pp of Erephine? It's part of BG:EE now. Well, how about having some people, or Erephine herself(if she's still around, which i doubt), continue this work? There are some sprites that were not touched, and i am talking about the human male fighter sprite for instance, his plate armor version has some issues from the waist-down. Some touching-cleaning up would be in order, just like it was done with the leather armor human male fighter sprite. (i had a feature request about this loooong time ago, could maybe be bothered to dig it up if there was a reason :p)

Yeah i want something new to look at for my char, even if it's that small :p

As far as new content goes, I agree that more wilderness areas and another path to Spellhold (more suitable for good characters) would be nice to see. Brynnlaw would also deserve more content (quests and maybe new linked areas); visually it is one of my favorite areas in the game and I like the feel of the place, as such it's a shame that we rush through it in a matter of minutes as there's only one sidequest and not much else. New really tough fights would also be welcome, like groups of other adventurers or big optional bosses.

Also, I'd like an in game setting for maximizing HP on level up always. I don't like switching to easier difficulties for that or use mods, nor do I like the randomness.

Apart from that, the more features they can change from hardcoded to moddable, the better.

I like the fact that there's no "good" path to spellhold, its a little more realistic since you're are essentially doing something thats illegal or at least frowned upon. It creates a 'lesser of two evils' situation that I think gives the game some extra depth.

As much as I like wilderness areas and quests outside Amn, they always felt a bit weird. Logic (or common sense) would dictate you go and free Imoen/visit Irenicus as soon as you raise the money. When you get back from Spellhold, you know that Suldanesselar is already under siege, so time is of the essence again. I always felt it a bit problematic to find a real RP reason to finish those quests. Especially, when I wanted to re-recruit Imoen and didn't want her to lose too much xp.

    That said, here's my wishlist:
    1. A +5 Katana for ToB content (I put this separately from other item wishes, since I really, really want a new end game katana)
    2. Bhaal powers! Slayer form is very weak. Either make it stronger and more usable and/or give us more Bhaal powers, please!
    3. Revised Hell Trials. Loosing your alignment (and paladin/ranger powers) for one(!) bad decision always bugged me.
    4. New weapons, armour and magical items (as many as possible :) )
    5. A +6 "evil" greatsword (we have +6 versions of every other 2H weapons, but Carsomyr can only be used by paladins...) and some other high-end weapons, to provide more options for end game would be great.
    6. At least one more new NPC (preferably an evil thief)
    7. Original BG1 style weapon proficiencies (I know it's not gonna happen, but I always preferred that system)
    8. More romance options
    9. Evil quests and such, as the "evil path" has always been a bit overlooked in these games I think.
    10. HP roll and automatic scroll learning should be made stand-alone options and not depend on difficulty (maybe permanent death too)
+1 More quests and dialogues. But I heard it's already going well, with plus 350 000 words, so I guess that's something I will surely get.

edit: organised wishlist to be in order of importance

    My wish list.

Stable and noob friendly multiplayer, between my mac and friends' PCs.

As bug free as possible ;-)

Other features can wait until everything is properly working.

As long as there's Revised Hell Trials, anything else is not particularly relevant to me - nice, maybe, but not crucial for my enjoyment.

I always justified the delay (in terms of RP) by saying that rushing to Spellhold could get both you and Imoen killed, given that you barely escaped from Irenicus once before. As long as he's staying put, you can afford to bide your time and build your strength...

Yeah, I usually take that way too. With a good party I also say that I cannot ignore other peoples problems. And when I do the quests after Underdark, I twist the story a bit, like the magical defenses of Suldanesselar can withold Irenicus for a month and I can't do anything until then, or even saying that the drows and Irenicus disappeared after surfaceing to prapare for the sige and now noone knows where they are and what they want.

Also, I did miss out something from my list, as @Moomintroll's comment reminded me: stable, user friendly, cross platform multiplayer! (Where each mage can have their own familiar! I know, I know, that's impossible too, because of engine limitations...)

    Wishlist BG2EE:

    1) Noob friendly Multiplayer, oh yes
    2) Banters! more party banters! Infinite joinable NPC banters... (and a way to deactivate them, if ppl dont like them much)
    3) Daily quests. Things that you may do more than once as a way to raise money in Chapter 2. Or just improve Strongholds, making them more viable and useful for that matter (usually, conquering a Stronghold is enough to get the money you need, and content about Stronghold-management become quite useless.. and even is spoiled because of the time you spend stuck in Spellhold/UD.
    4) Intrincate reputation system. Something like "Virtue" mod, that improves the way ppl see you / the way your party sees you. More than that, make "groups of the game" able to interact with that reputation, i.e., helping the church of Lathander would make other churchs unfriendly, being fair with beggar and peasants would make nobles untrust you and vice-versa, etc. Improved Evil quests and content would help, too.
    5) Persistent joinable NPC management. We should be able to track down some NPCs not currently in party but that is still friendly, or even hostile, and see them again and around. Maybe a hurried Nalia would leave party, but Anomen decides to stick with her for honor. They both leave the party, but they may be recruited later, with less prejudice than just "you didnt help me at all, so i'll never ever want to see you again". It could even be more elaborated: If CHARNAME had the choice to send both Anomen AND Jaheira to help Nalia, he would free 3 slots for his group (allowing more recruiting) AND raises the chance that Nalia successfully returns safe (with Anomen, Jaheria, both, or none). This all could be random, and even open new possibilities (maybe all of them are trapped by trolls and CHARNAME must save them within X days, or they will be eaten by the trolls).
    6) More wilderness areas. Maybe a new dungeon or two would be welcome :)

    1. I want a reworked epic bard song that plays to the strengths of your kit. I'd like to have a nastier Jester song, or at least let it buff allies while causing effects on enemies.
    2. More locations. Like quests linked to the new npcs. Maybe a large quest involving Neera's wild magic. Maybe a quest where that monk guy has to pick between helping the main guy and working with his order. Maybe quest that could link back to Dorn's past somehow?
    3. More spells. Flesh out Schools of Magic that felt neglected by the original creators.
    4. Psionics... :D:D:D
    5. Start bringing in custom made characters that you used to be able to mod the game with. That chaotic evil vampire lady was awesome. I liked Solaufein, I'd love to have him flee the underdark with me.
    6. Your stronghold would be great if your NPC friends would decide to go back their and hangout. Sometimes I like to switch between people. Kinda like the old Shining Force barracks. Maybe more quests related to the stronghold too.
    7. Shapeshifter greater werewolf scales normally.
    8. Maybe have Cyric's followers harass you more. :D
  • kamuizinkamuizin Member Posts: 3,704
@Gish, the 8 point only make sense in ToB. Cyric isn't stupid, he knows that for each bhaalspawn that dies, Bhaal is near to revive. In ToB we become an true menance, an candidate to take the mantle, therefore there he act against the party.
  • GishGish Member Posts: 74
@kamuizin Yeah I can see that. It might even be cool for him to make offers (one's he obviously intends to betray).

I also concur : more wilderness area to fill this empty map would be great.

Some should be linked to NPC / quests, other should be reachable without delay.

They don't have to be filled with quests / monsters everywhere, but wandering outside is always great.

For instance, a frozen or cold water mountain lake (could be an opportunity to meet a few yetis or ice trolls).

Work for better compatibility with the mods from the start. As it stands, with BG1 it's been a bit of a bother so far.
  • MordeusMordeus Member Posts: 460
The only thing I'd like to see is more wilderness areas. But only if they are available without having to take a npc along. The new areas to BG:EE were great except that you had to bring Neera or Rasaad along. So five or so new wilderness areas for SoA and then at least double the maps in ToB (which is around 10 new areas). That's all I think is needed.

Anything like new races, items or kits could be done via mods, so I rather leave them for modders to implement since the new 5 kits weren't all that necessary. It should be all about introducing things that are only possible by developers, not doable by modders.
  • mungomunkmungomunk Member Posts: 63
i don't really care for kits, races or items either. what I would love are new quests, areas, npcs:)
  • ItomonItomon Member Posts: 187
I think we should gather the most common wishes on that wishlist and make a poll, giving those main wishes more visible to developers. I mean, wilderness areas seems a common wish, for both power games and roleplayers
  • MalicronMalicron Member Posts: 629
Well, since there's no requirement to make our wishes realistic, how's about expanding Throne of Bhaal into Baldur's Gate III as it was originally envisioned? Not going to happen, I know, but I can dream.
  • SenashSenash Member Posts: 405
Another topic just reminded me of something:
+4 and +5 ranged weapon ammunition!
And decent and cool high-end ranged weapons! Especially long bows! (Taralash is just boooring, and weak)
  • DrayenDrayen Member Posts: 127
Additional difficulty settings.. I always thought insane was great, made you be more careful, but mobs die wayy too fast in BG2, like, equip your chars properly, have 3-4 greater whirlwind characters in your group, and melissan warps back to her power conduit before doing anything... You call that a boss battle? Increasing difficulty levels should add more health to enemies and perhaps more abilities/additional ennemies
