iPad is lagging

Anytime Jaheira casts Entangle, my game seriously suffers from lag.

I haven't gotten far enough for any other spells with lasting effects and graphics. I assume it will lag with them too.

Is there a setting I can play with to improve on this?

Unfortunately I don't think there's much you can do other than wait for the next patch to come out, which should include the new renderer. They originally said they hoped to have it out in May, so hopefully it won't be too much longer.
