Greater variety in spell scrolls/potions from Scribe Scroll and Alchemy

Like the title says it would be great if we could have more variety out of these two HLA's. Don't get me wrong, being able to make Magic Missile, Invisibility, Haste, Cone of Cold, Fireball, Monster Summoning II, Dispel Magic, Monster Summoning III, and Dire Charm scrolls is nice and all, but at ToB levels it would be nice to see a little more variety out of an ability.

Likewise for potions I'd like to see a little bit more than Potions of Master Thievery, Perception, Extra Healing, Superior Healing, Regeneration, Antidote, Oil of Speed, and Potion of Frost Giant Strength. By the time you get this you probably aren't going to be needing potions of Master Thievery or Perception (thieves have points galore), so it would be nice to have the possibility (rare as it may be) of making potions of magic protection/shielding, power, mind focussing, and freedom. Some or all of these would be great.

I think wizards should get a more powerful version of scribe scrolls as their HLA. After all, they are practitioner of high level arcane magic and should have no problem transforming words into powerful incarnation.

True. It makes sense that not all scrolls of the same type spell need to be at the same power level. You could have some that are powered higher and where only arcane casters of a certain level can even read them sufficiently to cast them.

Also, in case insufficiently trained mages or thieves attempt to cast the higher powered scrolls in an emergency, there could be say a 15% chance of dire consequences for the caster or even the party.

I'd say full out replace them with true 2nd edition Scroll creation and potion making. (and wand making)

Get the ability, use it, and then you get to pick your potion from a list, for 50% it's market value in gold and 1/25 of it's market value in XP. (just using the daily limit of the ability in place of the normal crafting/brewing times).

Mages/sorcerers, druids/clerics (potions only), and Bards get 1 use per day of each starting at lvl 10, and every 5 levels there after (options limited to spells their class can cast, and only up to their highest cast-able spell level), while thieves can pick it once they get to epic levels, as normal (characters that acquire UAI can make scrolls and potions from either class pool).

Also, give Mage/sorcs the ability to craft wands at level 10. Once per day. Same rules (50% market value in gold, and costs 1/25 xp (based on a fully charged wand)), while Bards can unlock 1 daily use of the ability as a HLA.

This seems like it could be moddable. Atweaks (compatible with bgee?) has something similar (though only for mages; only scribe scroll; and only a gold cost

Yup, aTweaks is now compatible with BG2EE, and it allows your mage to scribe any spell they know (though it must be memorized) if you have enough gold to cover the cost. It's an awesome way to swap spells between multiple casters in the same party.

Expanding this to include wands and potions would be awesome.
