[Mod Request] Dummy Kits

BoasterBoaster Member Posts: 622
Not "Kits for Dummies," but rather Dummy Kits.

This is a request I think any modder SHOULD be asking, so I will put in the request myself :)

Leave some room that will allow modders to add extra kits without destroying any original kits.

For example, Fighter has: Berserker, Wizard Slayer, and Kensai.

With dummy kits, as place holders, players might be able to add additional kits to their mod.
(Unmodded)
Fighter, Berserker, Wizard Slayer, Kensai, Dummy #1, Dummy #2, Dummy #3...
(Modded example)
Fighter, Berserker, Wizard Slayer, Kensai, Gladiator, Dervish, Brawler...
Three dummy kits for each class would be good for modding expandability.

ToBEx already expands kit slots to 250+ or something. I'm sure Oster&Co can do the same.

What about classes that don't have kits and mage 'kits'? Are there still problems with those? Would it be feasible to look at it?

Barbarian, Sorc and Monk kits and Multi-classes would be sweet!

Multiclass options shoukld not be hardcoded as they once were to allow Muliclass modding.

I'm certain trent has said all the character stuff (re: kits) has been moved to data driven model and the possibilities are endless and whatnot now. I've seen tons of tweets from him saying how he's unlocked stuff that was locked before

I understand we can mod in our own kits, but it might be nice to have certain dummy kits already there that we just have to activate and/or rename to our specifications.

Or perhaps maybe it is not worth bothering with.

I think it'd be very confusing for new players to be doing character creation (which in itself is incredibly confusing if you're new to it) and find a list of dummies without knowing what they are.
It's not incredibly hard to do it yourself if you have the motivation to do some modding, I believe. Don't see the problem with leaving it in the modder's hands.

I agree. It's not super difficult. I thought it might be helpful.

But I suppose it's not necessary.
