Messed up dialog.tlk (I think)

Alright. At the moment, all armor (not including robes) and shields in the game, have random descriptions of characters and quests, and without any statistics. I have tried deleting the dialog.tlk files, 766.beam and 766.status, repaired the installation, and it didn't work. Also, it only installed the dialog.tlk in the lang folder. Wasn't there supposed to be one in the 0766 folder also?
I have also tried uninstalling all mods, but that didn't work either. I have had this problem for a while, but simply ignored it seeing as I knew all the stats by heart, but with the addition of new items, it's beginning to be frustrating.

And to top it off, I also seem to have the same exact problem with my BG2 installation, except here not a single letter is to be found on the armors. I have tried downloading a new dialog.tlk file (correct version of course), but that did squat.

What can I do? If it is the dialog.tlk file, could someone perhaps upload or send me one?
