Word Explanation

edited March 2013 in Site Resources
Just making this post so new users/players can actually see what all the contracted words means.
Please put more in, and ill edit it with time. Or Correct me if im wrong. PM me for corrections.

It is sentences like these that perhaps can make new users/players confused . Quote @Bhryaen :

And as a result there really isn't any meaningful chance of an Item Randomizer that can be toggled in-game- not in a Settings AO and not in a BGConfig AO. It's either a CC AO Item Randomizer or none at all. Now I really really like the Item Randomizer's option, so I'd rather have it. So CC AO it is! :-)

You should clarify that NPCs can refer to joinable characters. New players might get confused about that since it doesn't make logical sense to me that they're called NPCs, but I do anyway out of convention.

    OP: Overpowered
PnP: Pen and Paper, in other words the original dungeons and dragons rpg, played with pen and paper.

Edit: OP could also mean Original post or original poster. While thats not bg-related it is forum related, and I guess that is relevant too?

    RTwP: Real-Time with Pause

Referring to any real-time game that includes a pause feature. First used on this board by Aliteri - when I first saw it, I had no idea what it meant and had to use Google. ;)

Some very specific ones you'll see often for BG2 weapons :

    CF: Celestial Fury
    FoA: Flail of Ages
MoD/iMoD: Mace of Disruption/improved Mace of Disruption

I would understand if you think they shouldn't be in the list though.

Oh and: FR, for Forgotten Realms

DUHM- Draw Upon Holy Might (confused the heck out of me when I first encountered it)
    CL, CLW- Cure Light Wounds
PVE- Player versus Environment or Player versus Everything- Essentially the opposite of PVP. Taking on the game as a single player versus taking on other online players.
Cheesy- Using overpowered/unfair tactics or items to defeat a monster, boss or player. e.g. "Using a horde of summoned monsters to take out Sarevok is cheesy, but it works!"
Cheese- anything considered unfair or overpowered.
