Why doesnt the steam version of the game support Mac and Windows?

I dont have much money and I dont want to rebuy the game to play it on a mac :(

    What do you mean it doesn't support windows? I was thinking of buying it off steam personally since it's the only place where it's available.. does all the money go to the team who made BGEE if i buy it off steam though? I'd rather wait if it doesn't... especially with the whole ordeal, steam sounds pretty suspicious.

    I really want to play BG1 now and not the classic version >.<

    steam is pretty cool. Not all the money will go to beamdog, some will go to steam I think. It does support windows, I am just unhappy that there is a mac version, and a windows version, but steam only has windows, and I will rebuy it for mac If I wanna play it on a mac

    More goes to Steam than to Beamdog which is all kinds of messed up.

    That might all change if beamdog gets the rights in the atari sale. It would also mean the steam version could get the latest patches straight away
