Good Party ?

Abdel ( Me ) Fighter

Imoen Thief

Branwen Cleric

Minsc Ranger

Dynaheir Invoker

Ajantis Paladin

I think it is pretty balanced and capable . What do you say ? Do you recommend any change . By the way , I have left for a couple of days Branwen , to take a Druid with me for the Druids' questline in the Cloakwood Forest . But I plan to get her back after I finish the quest .

Are you playing the NPC project mod? I'm not aware of any druid questlines in the Cloakwood forest that require a druid NPC (like Jaheira or Faldorn).

Its a good mix though. What weapon/s and weapon style/s did you select for your fighter?

Yes. It's a very balanced party and pretty capable. You should easily be able to win the game with it. You have three powerful fighter types for melee. Try to make sure that at least two of your fighter types have specialization in bows and equip them, along with Imoen. They are especially devastating in BGEE. For years I usually tended to carry Branwen, but recently I've been favoring Viconia (unless you require a Good aligned party). She has good magic resistance, and I find that important for a cleric who can still be standing to dispel some of the enemy's spells.

I think Faldorn is suggested to help fight the Iron Throne, though I don't know if she'll start complaining if you don't get a move on. There is a kind of anti-quest going on; if you have Jaheira in the group I think you'll get a hostile reaction from the shadow druids in Cloakwood.

It's not bad, and you can definitely beat the game with it, but you're running a little caster-light from a powergaming standpoint. Dynaheir isn't a bad mage, but she's barred from Enchantment, which is kind of painful since it means you miss out on a number of the best spells in the game. If I were you, I'd be inclined to drop Ajantis and pick up Xan. Or drop Ajantis, pick up Coran, and dual-class Imoen. Maybe even pick up Ajantis again after Imoen gets her thief skills back.

She can get haste and thats probably the most important spell a mage can have for this kind of a group. The enchantment spells available in BGEE are nice but you still get plenty of alternatives as an Invoker.

Yes there is a quest line of some Druids called the Shadow Druids . The quest takes place at the Cloakwood Forest and it follows the Main Quest , where you are to find a mine at the Forest. Moreover , you fight the Iron Throne ( Valar Morgulis ! )

Abdel is the tank and uses long sword and shield . Minsc uses composite longbow and if confronted he draws two-handed ( a special sword ) sword . Ajantis mainly bow , but also sword-shield or two-handed sword. Imoen mostly shortbow , but often shortsword. Branwen for a wide variety of spells , hammer or sling . Dynaheir for crowd control and offensive spells or sling.

It's a fine party. You can easily get through this game with that party, just pick the right gear for the right people and it'll be fine.

You can get through this game with any party combination, even soloing Garrick you could get through it. So don't worry so much about the stats, and instead figure out which characters you actually like.

Minsc isn't even that good of a character, but he's loved for his amazing personality. There are better characters than him that does the same in BG1 and BG2 but none of them have his personality.

I'd replace Branwen with Yeslick. He's better IMO and fits the rest of your party's alignment. You could also switch Ajantis out for Coran or another thief and dual Imoen into Mage for a bit, to give you additional spellcasters, but that's just my preference of having two casters to spam fireball wands at everything.

Rizdrin-fighter/Theif (A drow Dual swordsman either bastard or long swords)

Imoen-Theif/Mage (Archer and more spell power)

Minsc-Ranger(crazsy man with a big sword aka tank)

    Dynaheir-Invoker(spam the magic missles!)

Yeslick-Fighter/Claric(don't mess with a dwarf and his hammer)

Kivan-Archer(must i say it? the best archer in the game!)

I may be wrong, but isn't Coran the best archer in the game? He is a Fighter/Thief, which means his fighter level is generally 1 below that of Kivan, so his THAC0 is 1 lower, but his massive dexterity negates this. That puts them on par for accuracy, but Coran brings the added bonus of his Thief talents too.

By the end of the game Coran would have 2 better Thac0, would be doing 1 more damage (with both characters using a basic long bow and regular arrows this would be 4-9 damage compared to Kivan's 3-8), and would have 1 better armor class than Kivan. However Kivan would have maybe up to 14 more health (if you get Coran as early as you can anyways there would be a greater difference here if you don't get Coran at his lowest level).

You have tanker, mage, thief and healer there, it's ok and playable, no problem in that. If it's you first time in this game, just play with them, later in other playthrough you make different parties. I don't like faldorn (the druid you got in Cloakwood) but then, it's also your choice (faldorn is true neutral but her behavior is evil and she will cheer when rep goes down and complain when rep goes up).

Any group of NPCs you make that have a thief, healer, fighter and mage will be good no matter whom you choose. You didn't asked for this, but if you want more powerful NPCs, i give you the list below of NPCs that i think are stronger than normal:

    Coran
    Kivan
    Skie
    Edwin
    Kagain
    Viconia
    Dorn

If you don't bother with power and just want to pick ppl you like, anything will do :).

minsc+dynaheir + npc you like for example yesclick/ajantis

    charname part/full thief
imoen dualed to mage early even level2
    jaheira+coran +minsc + dynaheir

    charname part/full mage
imoen dualed(around level 4-7) to mage when you find +coran
    jaheira+minsc + dynaheir

    charname fighter/ranger/pal/barb
imoen dualed(around level 4-7) to mage when you find +coran
    jaheira+minsc + dynaheir
