Dark Moon Applicants turning hostile when fighting Dark Moon enemies

Not actually sure whether it's an actual bug or intentional behaviour but...
CURRENT BEHAVIOUR: If the Dark Moon Applicants are asked to follow the party, if a Dark Moon enemy is attacked within the sight of an Applicant, said Applicant will turn red (hostile). They do not turn hostile if a troll or wolf is being attacked, though.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR: Dark Moon Applicants are not ungrateful gits who will actually honour their agreement to assist the party on their assault of the Dark Moon Temple after the latter had saved their lives. Their alignments, after all, say they are LAWFUL evil/good (wait, what...?)
Either that, or their backstabbing the party is supposedly an attempt to regain the favour of the Shar monks. They could at least SAY something if this were the case, though.
