Would it be possible to mod this?

Would it be possible to make it so you can have more than 5 NPC's in your party? I've always dreamed of rolling through the game with a small army behind me. I realize it would make the game laughably easy, but I think it could be fun.

So, is this possible or is it hard coded?

    Unfortunately it's not possible to mod as it's (extremely) hardcoded. Even if the limit were raised somehow, you'd encounter countless issues with moving parties from area to area, spells, items, etc. etc.
