Gloves of Ogre Power (BG 1 EE)

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
Quite a few people have mentioned this mighty artifact in various discussions... so I thought I'd try to find it in Baldur's Gate. Apparently it's meant to be in Low Lantern, where you are attacked upon entry...

So my party took a deep breath and dived in... and found a ship full of gamblers and prostitutes and no attackers bearing the gloves that I seek. Are the gloves still in BG 1 EE or have they been removed or put somewhere else? Or am I meant to do something to trigger the attack?

    I think it only happens on the second or third floor down. Also, if I recall correctly, they only initiate conversation on sight; whether or not combat ensues depends on how you respond.

    Ah thanks I found it. I didn't realise there was so many levels to that ship lol
