Last member to add to my party? (first timer) (noob)

I have:

PC - Paladin
Imoen
Dorn
Minsc
Neera

does that mean I need a healer for my last slot?

A healer would be great in that party, try Branwen for a good alignment cleric.

Welcome, I am a relative noob too. This game has a rather steep learning curve, but it is well worth the effort.

Whilst Dorn is awesome, he is evil, so u are gonna have problems with him if u keep him long term. (As in you are gonna have to manage your party reputation carefully so that he doesn't leave.) From a roleplay perspective, it's kinda odd having a Paladin leading a Blackguard lol

Also, just so you know, there is a 'canon party', if you intend to play BG 2 with the same Charname as BG 1, and want the RP story to make sense.

I would say dump Dorn, and recruit Khalid and Jaheira at the Friendly Arms Inn. That will give you a healer, and 2 fighters for the one you give up.

the easiest way would be branwen -> change to yesclick
    hard way jaheira

Except he needs to get rid of Dorn if he's playing a Paladin. That's a very bad mix.

Yes, I suspect he thought Dorn and Neera are the NPCs he is meant to recruit, because they kinda 'jump out at u' ingame, if u know what I mean, but that's only cos they are EE additions.

Speaking of "canon party" 2 of them is going away in BG2... and 1 for a long time.
So I wouldnt worry about it so much.

But tbh, when I think of "Baldurs Gate" Minsc and Jaheria are characters that I associate with the game.
