BG:EE and BG2 Tutu

BGT or BGTutu has BG1 with the BG2 game engine and to jump straight from game to game. But would it be possible for us to play BG 2 with the BG:EE engine, does such a thing exist? I ask because it may be sometime before BG2:EE is made.
