What happens when a new iOS update renders the game unplayable?

Been enjoying the game hugely (picked it up on PC and iPad). I think they have done a stellar job in the main. However now the game is no longer being sold, and the team has moved on to other projects, is it safe to assume no work will be done on ensuring those of us who have purchased the iPad version will be able to continue to play once the current build no longer works with the current iOS?

    There isn't much point in them doing work as long as the project is in legal limbo. I have faith that Beamdog will push through, because I think they're really passionate about it, but I don't think they can offer patches or support as long as this dispute is happening.

    So I think all we can hope for now is that the legal problem is resolved before changes in iOS break compatibility. If that doesn't happen, then I guess you decide which you want more: Working BG or the latest iOS.
