Bgee and blunt weapons

Quick question. I'm creating a paladin that focus is two handed swords. I'm debating about my secondary weapon being bastard/long sword or mace. Is there any monsters that you have to have a blunt for in bg 1? I know there are the clay golems in bg2. R

Thanks!!!

    Not to my knowledge, no.

It's usually not a bad idea to use crushing weapons, if only because most armors are "worst" when faced with crushing weapons (Plate armor is AC 3 against crushing weapons but AC 0 against slashing weapons).

So if you're debating between a long sword and a mace, I'd actually go with the mace because in the majority of cases the mace will be better at hitting your enemies.

    Yes and No:

The skeletons that you face in this game do gain a damage reduction from all non-blunt weapons, but so far as I know they are the only mobs this applies to. You are right in determining that it happens a LOT more often in BG2EE.

Are you including the Black Pits? I believe there are slashing and piercing resistant clay golems in the Pits.

Stupifier is the best mace in the game.

The Stupifier is probably the best blunt weapon in the game unless you need a weapon to backstab with.

A rank in Bastard Sword is certainly useful for one part of the Tales of the Sword Coast content
The Werewolf Island. Most of the weapons that can hurt the toughest werewolf are bastard swords. Three or Four bastard swords, one longsword from Durlag's Tower, and a dagger. That said you can probably just eat the non-proficiency penalty at that point and your party mages can kick his furry butt anyway.

You'll probably want to grab a ranged weapon too.
