BG2 problem

I don´t know if this is a right place to post my problem, if it isn´t, I´m sorry.

In BG2, when I try to enter Crooked Crane, the game crashes with this message: An assertion failed in CGameArea.coo at line number 5504. I have tried to reinstall the game but it hasn´t helped. Does anybody know what I should do to fix it?
