Totemic Druid in BG2:EE

Would it be possible to improve the spirit animals the Totemic Druid gets with the level of the character, the same way you did in BG:EE? It would be nice if they would continue to improve at the same pace they are doing it now, instead of just getting a more powerful version and not level up at all, becoming very weak after the first half of the game. Maybe also put a limit to the number of spirit animals you can have at one time (one would probably be enough), instead of being able to summon as many as you can to balance it.
