BG2 NPC alignment mod

I've seen some BG2 posts here, so hopefully this is OK for this forum.
I'm replaying BG2/TOB for the first time since 2006, so maybe my memory is faulty, but I don't remember NPCs talking *constantly* about party reputation. Maybe it's a bug, but it's gotten to a point where Korgan complained twice while *in combat*. And as much as I like Minsc, his hamsters rejoice talk is like nails on chalkboard now.
So is there a mod out there that will shut them up? I don't want to turn off NPCs leaving (which I consider a cheat), I just really want them to shut the hell up. This is ruining a replay of my favorite game of all time.
