Will the new characters not interacting with the old game, and old characters, carry over into BG2EE ???
I like the new guys, without being overly fond of any of them, but if they remain their isolated little selves that would really cut down on the chances of me using them come part 2. It's no real issue taking them along in the world of silent, non-talking NPCs that is BG1. But come 2, with the interactions between the party being one of the games highlights, including our new chums would take a lot of that away.
As odd as they were at times, i'd miss turnip stories mid-vampire ambush, Haer'Dalis waiting until your deep, deep into the Beholder nest before working his magic on Aerie etc etc blah blah.
Anybody else feel the same way? Or perhaps the interaction between the 3 / 4 of them will be enough?

For a good example (probably the most substantial), try taking Viconia (old NPC) along with Rasaad (new NPC). When you invite Rasaad to explain his beliefs, Viconia will butt in and argue with him. Then when you take them both on Rasaad's personal quest, Viconia will butt into some of the quest dialogues and argue further with Rasaad ... which makes sense, since Rasaad is fighting against the followers of the goddess Shar, and Viconia is a priestess of Shar.
Welcome back Rasaad, I spent far too long holding your hand not to see it turn into a bona fide fist of fury down the line!
I never really got any between Neera or Dorn and the rest of the Party. Baeloth had some initial banter with Viconia but then didn't say much.
