Question about immunity to hold

Specifically, I'm asking about the immunity to hold that an undead hunter or inquisitor get.

I'm a bit confused about the differences between being "held" and other forms of non-movement (i.e: entanglement).

Does an immunity to hold prevent you from getting caught in webs?
Does it stop you from being paralyzed by vampiric wolves?
Does it prevent you from getting entangled by the druid spell of the same name?

Any other info is much appreciated.

Webs and entaglement - no, I don't think it will. Get Spider's bane or a ring of free action and you'll be immune though.

It will work against Vampiric wolves, Ghasts etc though.

It's been awhile since I played one, I think it's just hold X spells and abilities that replicate that effect.

Doesn't make much sense to give Keldorn a personal use (and monks) only suit of armor with free-action if his class already effectively has it.

It renders immunity to Hold spells only but not to entanglement or web spells.

Entanglement actually allows movement. You can even shoot with ranged weapon. You can't just move on the map.

Just goes to show how fuzzy things are, really... many effects are functionally completely identical (e.g. stun, paralyze, hold) yet have different ways of interacting with other effects. Highly confusing to many people.

Fuzzy, or complex. It makes sense that e.g. a spider's web, a ghoul's touch and a mind flayer psionic attack would stun you in different ways both magically and physically/biologically and not necessarily be countered in the same way or provided immunity against by the same means.

It does make sense from an RP perspective, but it still serves as a source of confusion. It's always a difficult question when it comes to logic and the associated complexities of story and flavor vs. game mechanics and the simplification of effects for the convenience of the user or the consistency of the game.
