Hey,
I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere but there is a case where you can block yourself off from continuing the game.
If you charm Davaeorn you can steal the Key to River Plug, go down to the Miner and flood the mine without killing Davaeorn, this will block you off from re-entering the mine and also from starting chapter 5 and opening Baldur's Gate.
