Vanilla BG2 Dialogue Bug Fix w/o patch or mod

I know most people have mods/patches and what not. This is for the people like me who still don't for whatever reason and have to put up with the obnoxious cannot initiate dialogue bug.

1.) Save game to a new slot
2.) Load the game you just saved

So far I'm finding this at least band-aid's the bug enough to get the dialogue you need to progress the game. Its annoying but the success rate with this tactic on a vanilla 1.0 BG2 game has thus far been VERY high.

Edit: This isn't foolproof, but it makes the game at least playable.

    Its called "lack of internet". I have no connection at home and ISP's refuse to run a line down my home street because providing service in my area is "unprofitable".
