Arena is a place where you can fight with other players characters.
Every player may apply to Arena.
During the application player's character (*.CRE) is downloaded to beamdog servers. In case of successful application this exact CRE file will be used for future challenges.
Approval process
In order character to be approved basic automatic "cheating check" is performed on its file. His affects, stats, resistances, proficiency points, spells, thieving skills, etc. are check where-there or not they are matching with the one that appropriate for this level, class and race.
*Benefits that may have occurred after game completion are also counted (tomes of stats, etc).
In case if items will also be downloaded to beamdog servers, each one should be automatically compared with the one from BG database in order to avoid homebrew alterations.
Challenges
All approved players may browse the arena list with other approved characters, view their char-sheets, filter\sort it by level, class, alignment, and challenge desired characters.
You may also create group challenge. In this case it may be several your characters versus other players, or you + other player's characters (selected from arena list) vs. other players, etc.
You may also set option with\without character's items. In case if it is challenge without player's items each char will receive generated items appropriate for his level\class\proficiency.
When character is challenged owner receive email notification with the details.
Events
During character upload you may also tick the check-box "apply to events". In this case you may be invited to events that a rarely organized by beamdog's DM.
Usually it is a bunch of invited players versus some waves of monsters that are spawn and orchestrated by DM. The event may take place in any of BG1&2 areas.
