Removing and re-recruiting BG:EE NPC's

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
Couldn't decide the right forum to post in, figured this'd be the best place.

Would it break the BG:EE npc's quests if I remove them from my party for some time?

I like to rotate my party members during play depending on what part of the game I'm at. (using the scs feature for that) but don't want to break anything.

    I haven't tried the BG EE romances, but if they are anything like BG 2, removing them from the party would end romances, but not the quests as far as I remember, cos I repeatedly dropped and picked up Dorn just to do his quests specifically, but almost nothing else, cos my party was Good aligned.

    Allright thanks then, that leaves me some more room to maneuver.
