Charnames lifespan

I've always been playing with the idea that because of Charnames divine essence, he/she would have a greatly extended lifespan. I kind of need to do this, to enjoy my character and here's why:

Being an awesome Bhaalspawn Half-orc with a (if lucky) lifespan of 60 years just seems like a total rip-off compared to an Elves hundreds of years, no?

But let's say you smash the Throne in the end and as the epilogue says, the essence is gone forever etc etc..

What's your take on this? Would we live long and prosper, or grow old and die a couple of decades later?

I know this shouldn't be affecting if i enjoy my time in the game or not, but it actually does.
I like to follow my characters from cradle to coffin.

According to the prologue you are 20 iirc. Definately early 20s.

You start out the game at age 20. How many years you age after that (prior to the end of ToB that is) depends on how much resting you do! :p

According to offical canon, being a Bhaalchild greatly increases the natural life span. Abdel Adrian, who did release the Bhaalspawn Essence (afaik anyway) at the end of ToB, continued to live for almost another two centuries despite being human, and apparently in no ill health. He only died because he was killed; there is little information as to how long he would have kept on living otherwise.

having divine essence wouldn't that mean you would live as long as the god because as long as the god is worshiped its alive, as long as its alive you have divine essence meaning you live. which means.....

Faerun is pretty empty when 4th ed hit

Well, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but the D&D module in question (Murder in Baldur's Gate) was released only a short while ago. It features Abdel and Viekang, and the setting is definitely centuries after the BG games. Not sure *why* they are still alive exactly, but they are.
