Baldurs Gate/Forgotten Realms representation of Chaos?

Well met and welcome.

I'm trying to decide on a Baldurs Gate/Forgotten realms tattoo, preferably something representing Chaos (and of course, something that will look good!) My initial thoughts was the symbol of Cyric, however the missus thought that was something that could be used to associate me with a biker gang. Any other thoughts/inputs/recommendations?

< what > and < why > would be much appreciated, thanks.

Cheers :)

Try to convince your missus to agree with the Cyric symbol and quote "Tiax rules all!"
You won't be mistaken for a biker gang member. What about the Bhaal symbol and quote "I will be the last and you will go first" ? I think I already saw a BG tattoo somewhere here and it looked good.

Haha, well one can't argue with Tiax.

Yeah, I saw that :) Some dude had it on his arm which looked pretty cool. I'm trying to stray from the skulls and have something a little more unique. For example, the symbol of Lloth (the compass looking design) but once I mentioned the spider queen to her, she proceeded to tease me.

Something specifically relating to any of the Chaos domains would be awesome.

One symbol used for chaos is a point with arrows leading out in to the 8 major points of the compass. It's commonly used in Games Workshop chaos stuff and originally used by Michael Moorcock.

It's simple, geometric and lacking in skulls. There's a pic in the wikipedia article:

Oh nice, thanks. I shall have to keep that in mind. I remember seeing that briefly when I dabbled in a bit of games workshop stuff. Something to think about if I can't think of anything Baldurs Gate/Forgotten realms related :)

I was also thinking of maybe the symbol of Talos. I'm not sure how that would look in a tattoo design. Also possibly any organizations/groups but I'm not sure if there are any related to the Chaos domain though.

Just what I was looking for :) Do you know if there's a listing per chance of any of the organizations/groups as well?

Unfortunately the "organizations by alignment" page is quite unfinished.

Does it have to be evil? The Harpers are seen as CG and their symbol is pretty neat. I wouldn't say it really says "chaos" to the uninitiated though.

As far as I know (and on this subject, that's quite a lot) there is no D&D symbol that stands for just Chaos. There is, however, a sect in Planescape who are strictly chaotic. Maybe their symbol is to your liking. It is kind of bikery though; http://mimir.net/psmush/chaosmen.shtml

Otherwise, go with the Warhammer symbol or pick a warhammer chaos god.

If you decide to go down that road, some more inputs:

Tharizdun's symbol immediately comes to mind:

As the symbol of the creator of the Abyss, not many symbols from FR represent Chaos (well, Chaotic Evil) better than his.

Thanks for all the replies guys, some really good ideas here :) Keep them coming! Evil is preferable, but I will give other alignments consideration.
