I don't think anyone would be willing to waste the DEX tome on her.

Indeed seems like a waste. Even if you have a mod to bring her to BG2 and mod her to be dualed to thief there to capitalize on your invested tome, is there really a need for more thief duals? What kind of role are you hoping to fill with Branwen?

Off the top of my head I can't see many ways to use it to your advantage. If you dual early you will lose most of the cleric abilities while getting a thief with limited dexterity. If you dual late you will have to spend a long time without cleric abilities (possibly necessating another cleric) and while you level up the thief side also a fair amount of time with limited thieving abilities (possibly necessetating another thief).

Just looking for a different experience, and have yet to see a cleric dualed to thief.

It's not practical because BG has a ton of theives and the dex tome is one of the more coveted items in the game. Having said that cleric theieves absolutely rock all cotton socks in a 6 mile radius. All day, everyday.

The sanctuary spell enables them to pick pockets, find and remove traps, pick locks and loot chests while invisible. Nobody else can do that. The only thing that sancuary cant do is allow backstabbing.

Clerics gain automatic proficiency with their conjured weapons and they can backstab with most of them, like flame blade. Helmites can use their sword of seeking skill to sabotage scummy seaman with super slick +4 slicing.

They can cast find traps, which is 100%. Disarming them still requires some skill.

The two classes play well together. Halfing cleric/theives should absolutely be allowed.

They can also backstab with staves.

Dualing at level 7 would probably be best. Shouldn't be too difficult since you need to be in Baldur's Gate to get the tome of dexterity anyways. It'll mean you can get her to level 9 (which is 4x backstab) and you'll be able to cast holy power and DOHM (which will help with her normally bad strength).

If the forum search works, try "all dualed party". I'm not sure who played/documented the run (I think @Lemernis?) but it did include dualed Branwen.

There is a Halfling Cleric/Thief in one of the Forgotten realms book series that really makes me want to play one. Every month he had to steal a new item and that became his new holy symbol.
