"Escape" key opens "Custom character creation menu" instead of going back

1.Click "Singleplayer"
2.Click "New Game" > you will see "Select pre-defined characters or make custom" menu
3.Press "Escape"

instead going back to the main menu, pressing "Escape" opens "Custom character creation menu". This should be also fixed for Multiplayer

    I can confirm the glitch (I don't call it a bug, not worthy enough to be a bug!). However, I can also state that it did the same thing with 2014 (aka non beta) release (tested it). But, removing such glitches shouldn't hurt!
