[Bug] Sirine Random Encounters Non-Hostile

So I did a search and couldn't find this anywhere, but it seems that when sirines on the lighthouse map spawn as non-hostile NPCs if they catch you resting. Seems like an unhealthy bug, since it lets you perfectly surround and easily overwhelm one of the game's most dangerous and XP-worthy enemies.

Expected behavior: sirines hate people

On the topic of Sirines, or perhaps just charm spells in general, the confused state brought on by cursed weapons of berserking can be overridden by a charm spell and turn a rampaging Blackguard CHARNAME with the Cursed Sword of Berserking +3 into an actual enemy instead of just a random murderer.

Expected behavior: Uncontrollable rampages should be uncontrollable.

I also had the non-hostile sirines upon resting on that map. I'd forgotten about that, but it was some very easy experience.

Should I make a separate thread for the Berserk Weapon/Charm bit?

    Aye, that's probably best.

Is this actually a bug? Uncontrollable by normal means, yes, but by magic? I don't know. How does it play in the original BG, and is there any sign in the berserk effect that there was intended immunity to charm/dominion/sleep/ etc?

Considering some forum members tout this as the best use for the Sword of Berserking, I would imagine that it served this function. And, considering that confusion is confusion, regardless of the character's enemy/neutral/ally/party state, I would assume rage would be rage.

Forum members liked something, and rage = rage.

    Ok.

Before changing a mechanic, lets make sure it isn't working as intended, that's all I'm saying.

My first point was that players have used the sword for that purpose before, so obviously it functioned that way at some point.

My second point was that you can't regain control of party members hit with Chaos or Rigid Thinking with Charm spells, so why should Charm spells fix a similar condition? And, if the argument you're basing this on is that Dire Charm is magic, the insanity induced by the sword is likewise magical.

I never said I would not be okay if it was deemed to work as intended. That's why I bring it up, so a mod can tell me as much.
