Is the patch introducing problems faster than it solves them?

Eagerly awaiting the patch release and following this forum, but...

... it seems new problems are cropping up faster than old ones are being cleared.

What is going on down there?

Did you guys just pass beyond the Balmer Peak?

I think it's much more likely that people are now paying close attention to the game due to the beta-testing element, and so bugs that have been around a while are now being picked up.
  • Also, instead of new fixes being tested internally to check for new problems before being released "into the wild," they're being immediately pushed into the semi-open beta where we do the checking in a more visible way.

Seems that some new bugs are found/arise, but they seem to be less and less severe (my impression of the situation, at least from reading the forums). I have yet to find a bug in my playthrough - the worst Ive found is that the journal text is sometimes slightly badly adjusted to its borders :P

Im a horrible beta tester I just realized :O

And looking to the kind of bugs popping up now, it's more "easy of use" or cosmetic changes people are reacting to. More or less all game breaking bugs are gone.

And of course, sometimes a fix is pushed out too quick and causes another bug (keybindings lost comes to mind), but that was instantly fixed again.

And that's the main reason of the beta... We are the testers...

One issue is that beamdog is implementing more features now into the patch which causes new bugs. Instead they should have released the old patch as soon as possible (but when ready) and then focused on new features etc.

It might be a good plan to introduce all features they want in BG2:EE launch now and release the patch. That way they'll get a large amount of users to test out the engine and have a few weeks to iron out the bugs before BG2:EE comes out.
