Cormanthyr/Myth Drannor could be a possible special dungeon.

From what I read of the Elminister origin series, this area is insanely deadly and a treasure trove at the same time. Devs could tell the history of the fall of Myth Drannor and while this was severally screwed up in the game Pool of Radiance, I think this would be a great side dungeon edition similar to the side castle in IWD:The Heart of Winter.

Since this place has some of the worst monsters/demons of hell this would obviously not be available until BG 2, as a BG 1 character would never survive. I more want to see clues of the fall of the Ancient Eleven city similar to the fall of the Eleven/Dwarven alliance in IWD 1. Since Elminister is all through the Baldur's Gate series, you could easily have a secret note throughout the game that keeps showing up with your name on it hinting at a need for your services after your quest to find who is chasing you. This dungeon would even rival the Tower in BG: Thrown of Bhaal, as Myth Drannor is a tomb of death even for the greatest adventurers. Obviously, this would involve a new spell, 9th lvl spell "Time Conduit". This is a fantastic considering their is so much history with Elves beginning way before humans, and it would be nice to see something besides human cities.

The main problem is that thouse ruins are far away of the area where both baldur's gate take place

Undermountain is closer, and that is an incredibly insane dungeon. I thought Dragonspear Castle would be pretty good too, but I wanted to double check its location. When i did, I stumbled across this which probably is posted here somewhere but I thought was pretty cool anyway.

I don't remember Dragonspear Castle being in the game, is this new content or was Dragonspear just that short of a campaign? The picture looks fantastic, I just wish it was bigger so it would fill my whole screen.

I don't remember Dragonspear either, although it was in the console game Baldur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance. My hypothosis is that this has something to do with the Black Pits. There are entrances to the underdark (where the Black Pits are located) in Dragonspear. That would explain how they could work this castle into the game despite being kind of out of the way to be easily integrated into regular gameplay.

Not too long ago I was reading up on castle Spulzeer and he follow up adventure, The Forgotten Terror. I though they would make an excellent adventure module for BG2. I believe the castle itself is located just south of tethir road in Amn.

Cormanthyr/Myth Drannor already is in 5 or 6 games. I want to see more of the realms than just the Sword Coast and Moonsea regions.

Does anyone think a game set in, say, Kara-Tur or Zakhara would be interesting?

You know what region might make an excellent and unique RPG video game? The Sea of Fallen Stars. Pirates are awesome and there's a huge diversity of places to visit.

Distance isn't really an issue since someone could just port us there.

Personally I'd like to see them expand the Mage sphere abyss level into a huge dungeon where we fight another demon lord. We beat Demogorgon so it's not that far fetched, and Graz'zt would be an interesting foe.

@LadyRhian I'd love to go to either place. Frankly I can't remember if either have been in any of the games I've played? The Sea of Fallen Stars might be cool as well, providing the pirates don't have the same plot armor as Saemon Havereon. God but I wanted the option to shoot fireballs at that creep.

@seeka in BG2, Yoshimo is from Kara-Tur. Zakhara's nickname is the Land of Fate and it's based on Middle Eastern-type fantasy. Think, lots of Djinnis and stuff like Aladdin. Plus Assassins.
