"The signature of BeamDogSetup.exe is corrupt or invalid" message

Hello there, I'm trying to install/pre-download BG2EE and I'm getting the above message. Is there anything I can do about it? I'm simply clicking on the link in the email.

Thanks in advance!

If you're using Internet Explorer, that's probably the cause of the problem. Use Chrome or Firefox and you won't have any problems.

Can confirm it. Downloading the Beamdog Client works with Chrome, but BG2:EE is not yet available for pre-load.

BG2:EE is available for pre-download? Or are you a beta tester?

Seriously? That's your answer? I have to install another browser just to download the installer? That's ridiculous. Internet explorer is the most popular web browser in the world. Beamdog's installer should work with it.

Internet Explorer is known to give false positives when scanning for errors; it's the only browser that does that, so using a different browser is the fastest solution. We're working on finding a workaround on our end, but yes, in this case, the problem is with Internet Explorer.

If you don't want to use a different browser, you can also click on "View Downloads", right-click BGEEInstaller.exe, and select "Run Anyway".

For clarification, the problem isn't with the installer, but with how IE is scanning the file during download.

It certainly is the most popular browser in the world, but not for the right reasons.

Actually, I've learnt that it's not unusual for companies and their IT departments to more or less ignore IE when designing websites and other interfaces to avoid unnecessary issues. My own workplace is an example of that.

Not saying that's what Beamdog is doing though, as Dee mentioned they're working on a workaround.

I tried that, but it didn't work. For the record, what I found that did work was to click "save as" instead of
"run". Then when I ran the installer, I was able to tell it to run anyway.
