A question about stats

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right forum to be asking this, but:

If I boost an NPC's stat, will that be carried over to BG2?

For example, in Durlag's Tower there's a book that gives a permanent +1 to Wisdom - if I use that on Viconia, will she still have that point when I pick her up in Athkatla?

been wondering that myself, since i never transfered a hero for one to the other.

Well, the hero's stats are always imported, I'm just wondering about party members who appear in both games (ie: Edwin, Jaheira, Viconia).

yes but you kinda have to transfer you hero for the game to take on the events from the last game right?

Oh, not at all - this is a much older BioWare game, after all. In the original version, the only thing that really transferred was the hero's stats and abilities; everything else was reset, though you had dialogue options that could establish past events (ie: when you first talk to Jaheira, you can either ask who she is or greet her as an old friend).
