Option to use old UI?

I really, *really* do not like the new v1.2 UI for the PC. It's much less attractive and much less legible than the old version, for no gain that I can see.

Unfortunately, AFAICT there's no way to revert to an older revision of the game once it has been upgraded. So for the love of Boo, would it be possible to add an option to the game menu to use the old UI instead of the new one?

    From the screenshots the only thing I don't like is the translucent bottom pane.
