Been playtesting multiplayer the last two days and just so you guys know the game is highly unstable with more than one host and 2 clients. Crashes too much with many players.

    Good luck with the game!

    Cheers!

Same thing is happening when I tried to join other peoples games last night. Can join and get the attempting to connect screen and then music stops and I have to kill the program.

Well, once everyone is in, you can stop listening to join requests. alternatively, we could go the Hamachi route, if we can get it back to the IP setting

Does anyone know if hosting with protocol is any better?

well, the IP system DID have a lot more fixes done to it, though again, without Hamachi, what we have is a typical Bioware multiplayer system. Where it flips a coin and decides whether we can play or not

also, you can stop high levels from interfering by simply starting a new game, and have us all come in with only stats, no equipment, no experience

hmmm, starting to look like Hamachi + IP is the way to go, it's not letting me in on beamdog. Also, I love that on the forum, the spellchecker doesn't recognize the word 'beamdog'

    I just downloaded Hamachi myself

...aaaaand it booted me again. IP is looking better and better, or flat out waiting for the next patch

so yeah, we should probably set up a Hamachi server, you can pm the players the login info (remember it's case sensatove), then we connect via IP, and see if it's less headache-inducing, yes?
