[Bug] Cannot start new characters

Since updating BG:EE to v1.2, I can no longer start the game with a new character. I did not have this problem with the final Beta v1.2. This error is not fixed by a fresh restart or a repair install.

After I finishing naming the character and hit enter, the game crashes before the intro narrative begins.

I get these two error messages:

errormsg2

    Thanks...the previous error fix did not come up in any my searches. I include a link to the previous thread now.
