Patch 1.2 returned me to my original problem I had fixed

You know when you have a bad feeling about something but you do it anyway and then sit there going "welp, I was right fml"? If not, humor me and pretend you do anyway it'll make me feel better.

I had a lot of trouble getting BGEE to run on my computer, until I found the .ini file edits posted here. It was running like a dream. Flawless. Never crashed, frame rate was great, sound was great. Everything. Well I honestly wasn't even going to bother with 1.2 but I saw the whole middle button scrolling feature and was all "OMG I WANT THAT" because the regular mouse scrolling bugs me to no end, either going too far too fast or just being a general pain. I figured I'd back up my saves and .ini edit in another folder just in case, and even set up a system restore (though I appear to have done that wrong), and said worst case scenario I could always re-install the old version.

Well as it happened, 1.2 returned me to the same problem I had in the beginning (specifically, a blank black screen with sound but only the hand and no other graphics visible). I tried turning off the 'disable desktop composition' to see if maybe I just didn't need that anymore, but to no avail. I made sure the .ini file didn't change (which it did not). I have tried reinstalling twice but now it won't let me run the damn thing without installing the update. Even tried disconnecting from the internet and then it just sits there trying to connect.

The only thing I can think of now is that due to the supposed improved compatibility, I no longer want the edits in the .ini file but as I have no idea what the original default .ini file looks like, I cannot test this.
Edit: Thanks @TJ_Hooker and @Dee, sadly this didn't do anything. I feel so defeated right now, like I might as well give up and forget getting to play anymore because I'm so frustrated and I fought with this thing for five hours initially trying to make it work the first time around. I just want the old version back. I didn't need any of the stupid patch fixes.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you want the original .ini, just delete your current one (or cut and paste it from folder). The next time you run the game it will generate a new .ini with the default settings.

You can test it by renaming the ini file to "Baldur1.ini". The game will generate a new one when you launch it with everything set to the defaults, and it won't overwrite your old one.

Okay, just tried it. No good. I feel like crying, as pathetic as that is over a computer game lol. I'm just so frustrated.
