Draw Upon Holy Might spell vs. innate ability - casting time

Is it just me, or is the casting time for the innate ability you get waaaay longer than the priest spell?

Always been curious to why this is.

Its kinda odd. If anything I would have expected it to be less.

I guess it would be too good on melee CHARNAMEs? No idea why it is longer, but it definitely is.

Seems like its almost a bug too because the description for the ability says they have the same casting time (2)

@elminster: That's often the case for abilities that are the same spell, but in different incarnations (e.g. divine spell vs. innate ability). See the Inquisitor Dispel, for example. My guess is that they didn't bother to change the description for innate abilities, because there is no way in-game to actually view them.

But there is now as of BGEE. You just right click on them. A few of them are still bugged (they show barkskin) but it should work for a lot of them. I just tested DOHM and its description shows up fine this way.

Fair enough, I'm not really playing BG1 so I guess I missed that. Good to see they paid attention to that detail.

@elminster and @Lord_Tansheron, while the ability to view the description for an innate ability is new, even before the patch abilities referred to the string in dialog.tlk that gave the description for the spell of the same name. The only way this issue will be resolved is if a new string is written for and referenced by the SPL file for the ability.

Can you confirm if the casting time is intentional or an actual bug?
Description says casting time 2 for both innate and priest spell.

    The description is wrong.

In any case if you want it to have a casting time of 2 just copy the file in this .zip file to your override folder

    Thanks @elminster
Since it's almost always a pre-buff, it's just annoying to have a long cast time.

What does casting time matter when pre-buffing? You can cast one spell per round anyway. Casting times only matter when in combat and somebody can interrupt you or you could do normal attack and cast a a spell on same round.
