Planning BG2 mixed party- can I keep all these people around?

Here's who I want to use for BG2:

Mazzy
Korgan
Viconia
Hexxat
Edwin

I know certain combinations of NPCs can be pretty explosive. I haven't found anything to say Mazzy will wind up in a duel with any of them, but certain people (e.g. Aerie) might bounce if certain other NPCs stay around too long. Am I in danger of anyone walking out on this group? And I know there's always a risk of this happening with the new thief, since no one knows anything about her yet.

Also, when playing a mixed party, what's a good strategy for maintaining decent rep without risking going too high and losing the evil characters? I don't want to go murdering guards if at all possible and make enormous rep swings. Should I sit on 15 rep, since I don't think there are any rep boosts bigger than 2?

Actually, Mazzy and Korgan end up really hitting it off if you can keep either of them from leaving. Don't worry too much about rep boosting too high; if you don't buy it outright, it's rare you'll gather enough to make your evil people leave, and Viconia automatically eats 2 of it. If you want it as high as you can for monetary purposes, then things might get tricky, but there's plenty of money in BG2, so no need to powergame discounts. I'm not aware of any other personality problems in this group, but nobody knows about Hexxat yet. She may hate Mazzy.

That looks fine to me, fun too. I believe Mazzy & Korgan have some good dialogues. I wouldn't call it particularly mixed. Mixed would be adding Keldorn & Aerie into the equation, at which point you'd need a mod to keep the peace, but where's the fun in that?
  • @SpiffyMcBang Thats just an evil party + Mazzy. And you should be able to keep them together, if you have enough points of Charisma. I plat my current game with a Gnome with 10 Cha and NPC's are shouting to each other.

As long as your rep doesn't reach 19 or 20, Edwin will stick with you, and he has some funny dialogue with pretty much everybody anyway, so that's a plus :) As mentioned earlier Mazzy and Korgan actually hit it off pretty well. Viconia can be a little difficult at times, but you can actually change her alignment if you're going to be in a romance with her I believe. So except for Hexxat, your group looks pretty fun and capable :)

The Mazzy-Korgan thing was the entire purpose for making this group. After that I pretty much just wanted NPCs who would offer the most interaction with each other, minus the people I've previously used (ie. I loved Imoen and Nalia talking about being archmages, so now I want that type of thing with different people). Keldorn would have been interesting to pair with Mazzy, but there just wasn't a spot for him class-wise given that the three core members were two fighters and a ranger (PC). Same with Valygar, although the fact I would have brought Jan would have made it a little easier since I wouldn't need Edwin. Plus I've used Valygar before.

How does charisma affect this? My archer has an 11, but there's that 18 charisma ring available early. Will I need for her to have it on? Also, she's chaotic good; that doesn't matter, right? I'm basically treating this has her and Mazzy trying to guide the bad people into the light.

Now that I'm thinking about it..

    Mazzy
    Valygar
    Jan
    Korgan
    Viconia

I really want to check out the new thief, but if I decided to run this party instead, there wouldn't be any people fighting or leaving the party, right? Viconia can't coexist with Keldorn, or Korgan with Aerie, and that's all the limitations I'm aware of.
