[V1.2] Strange mix of languages in game when switching languages

I've always played the game in French so far, but after a forum discussion I was willing to check a description in English. So I choose English in the game menu, confirmed and quit the game.
When I restarted the game, menus were in English, as expected. I loaded a save game (created while in French), and went to check was I wanted in the character sheet. And here's what I got (attached screenshot LanguageMix1.png).
This happens in many screens: mage spells screen has buttons in English, but a strange mix of "Niveau 1" and "Known" on the left side. When pressing space, the game displays "MODE PAUSE", not "PAUSED".

When I quit that current game, after I confirmed quitting (the confirmation screen was in French, while the Options menu was still in English), menus had switched to French when I returned to the previous menu. I quit the game completely and restarted. Same behaviour.
Then I restarted the game completely again, created a new game and imported a character created and exported while I was playing in French. The introduction text on the character youth was displayed in French, while the voices were in English instead of French (I should mention that I'm playing with a personal patch, available here, that brings back French sounds through bif files installed in lang\fr_FR\data, as is the case with German). Then, when in front the inn, I had the same issue as with my save game: interface in English but information in French, including the "Bienvenue à Château-Suif" ("welcome to Candlekeep") text and the quest to find Gorion, "Journal mis à jour - Trouver Gorion".
Without quitting the game completely, I created a new single game and the character creation screen was also mixed: most things were in English but the description and somes buttons, "Accepter" and "Annuler" (cancel or abort, I'm not sure in that screen) were in French. (attached screenshot LanguageMix2.png)

I restarted the game completely, created a new game and this time selected to import the pre-made 01FIGHT character. This time the introduction text was in English, with voices also in English. And globally, all the game was in English.

Then I switched back to French, left the game and restarted. I loaded the auto-save game with the newly imported figher character. Everything was displayed in French, as if the 01FIGHT was free of any tie with a language.

Summary:
  • save games seem to retain the language they were made in, except for most parts of the game interface
  • imported characters seem to retain the language they were made in, but those provided with the game are not impacted
  • the mix may also happen between text and its associated sound
  • when the game takes into account the language of the save game or of the imported character, it propagates to parts that were originally following the language requested in the options
  • finally, this propagation does not include everything
