    @Heas it would appear so.
    @Dee stand alone launcher coming soon?

    Does the version of the game installed from the Beamdog client require you to be online to play?
  • ScooterScooter Member Posts: 182
    @marceror no just to install :)

    1.6gb preload compared to the total 2.3gb of BG1EE. This is disheartening. I demand 1gb of junk data to make me feel BG2EE is more than BG1EE.

    Does the version contain manuals???
  • HelminoHelmino Member Posts: 106
    Like i said in the other topic, manuals are into the preload?

    Urgh. downloaded 6% in a couple of minutes. Now it's paused for around 10 minutes as it is 'connecting'...

    [Edit] And now another minute of 600kb+ before dropping the connection again.

    I'm not too fussed, after all I can't do anything with it yet and pre-load hasn't officially been announced. I just like things to move along.

    Well I have 40% done so thats a win in my books.
    Will try again in the morning

    The speeds are there - just hit 2+mb download, they just seem sporadic.

    I got 6,7% of the stuff in a flash, but after that, it's been "connecting".

    I've never done a pre-load before (in fact I'm hardly interested in games, except for BGII). So, do we need to download something extra on Friday or do we already get everything and it just starts working on Friday?

    Mines started downloading properly now

    There will be an additional small download on Friday before it can be installed.

    @decado: Thanks. Much obliged.

    In fact the download didn't take very long at all in the end.

    Still a no-go from the website (standalone client).

    All done. The final 45% took about 5 minutes.

    @Dee or anyone else that cares to answer:
    Will there be a standalone launcher made available for BG2:EE for those of us w/out the client? If so, will it be available in time for pre-loading?

    Admittedly, my tech-fu is weak, but from what I'm seeing there's no way to extract reliable information from the pre-load files - NI, EE Keeper and WinBIFF all require CHITIN.KEY to access the BIF files. About the only thing you can do, as far as I can tell, is listen to music.
