I just want to know what is it?I thought we downloaded bg2ee on friday and i want the stand alone launcher...

    It's essentially downloading some of the game files ahead of time, so that when the moment of release comes you will have less content left to download and will be able to get the full game and get started sooner. It also spreads the server load over more time.
