Disappearing Quick-Save Problem

About five minutes after I make a quick-save, it disappears completely as if deleted, and quick-load doesn't work. Some people have suggested trying different compatibility modes, or running the game as an administrator, but the problem still occurs.

I installed patch 1.2 recently; could this be causing the issue? It's been a while since I last played BG:EE, and can't remember if the quick-save issue existed prior to installing the 1.2 patch.

    I would appreciate it if someone would not pretend like this problem doesn't exist, because I'm having it too. I encountered it yesterday and without either quick or auto saves, this game is unplayable.
