....which doesn't answer the question at all.

I'm fairly sure the Steam unlock is separate from the Beamdog unlock.

@LiamEsler, will the Mac version be available to download when the countdown ends, or is it just for the PC version with the OSX one following later in the day? I just ask because there is no Mac Pre-loader yet.

@Eudaemonium Conjecture from here on out! From what I understand, the PC & Mac builds should both be available at the same time. That said, the Mac side of things is slightly more complicated (and I'm not sure, but I suspect this is why there has not been a pre-load for Mac), so I would not be surprised if there is a small delay between platforms.

@LiamEsler: Thank you for the quick response! Well, apparently the game comes out at Midnight here, and since I have no real intention of staying up all night even to play BG2:EE, I can live with a short delay :) As long as its here before Saturday XD.

I don't know the answer :) but there are so many complaints about Steam releasing stuff slower here that I felt the time was right to mock them.

In this case it doesn't seem like Steam releasing slower as much as Beamdog releasing sooner than they scheduled it on Steam. Having their own DL client which would eliminate giving a cut to Valve, so that makes sense, I just try to keep all my games with the one system if I can.

But their plan worked, I got it through Beamdog.
