    In pen & paper D&D (and Pathfinder) I prefer the prepared casters rather than spontaneous casters. I use my slots for the spells that I know I’m likely to need and just keep scrolls of all the situational spells.

    It would be nice if you could scribe your own scrolls in BG.

    I always wished you could scribe your own scrolls as well, that would really add a lot of extra strategic value.

    Mana bars / spontaneous casters are so boring, and everysingle other RPG already uses that. BG's spell system requires a lot of strategic thought.

    The only thing is though that BG2 doesnt follow proper PnP spell progression, and stops mages at a measly 5 spells per level. You can install a mod to allow PnP progression qhich allows up to 9 spells to be memorised per level.
