some ascension and SCS questions

I was wondering a few things before BG2EE launch

ascension: Is it really ready for the launch? If it is not, would I be able to play up until the end of SOA then install it before I enter Throne of Bhaal?

SCS: In what way will it make the game more challenging, providing the enemy with cheese, making there AI even better than what BG2EE supposedly already did to make it better? If it isn't suited for me, is it easy to uninstall and keep playing without it and not cause problems?

thank you anybody who can provide insight

Ascension only affects the ToB portion of the game.... so just play :) I am working on the compatible version on my own, but its not ready yet.

    No cheese, just brains.

Yes, but you won't. SCS is the best AI mod.

thank you both, take my insightfuls :) oh and good luck @Cuv. I will make sure to take my time in SOA so ascension is ready for my TOB. I am ready to accept the challenge again with my newfound experience and I will hopefully beat the final battle this time :)

Your can just look at SCS readme. But be warned! it will bind this mod to your BG forever. Irresistible AI modification

The only downside is you will need to reinstall SCS after AScension comes out. Any vague ETA by the way? :)

@Cuv said in another thread that he'd try to have something by the end of the week :)

    Awesome!

And Cuv, we really appreciate what you're doing, but could you give us just a rough estimate as to when you expect it to be finished? A week? Two? A month? I know you're probably very busy IRL, and I'm not trying to rush you or anything, but a rough ETA would be helpful, if only to understand how long we'll need to stretch out our SoA playthrough before hitting ToB.

Also, thanks for all the hard work, Ascension is one of the best mods out there, and definitely deserves a spot in BG2EE! :)

@Cuv Are there any compatibility problems with other mods or will it install just fine even after a few other mods like SCS and bg2 tweaks are installed?

you don't need the bg2 fixpack. its in here (which you didn't ask about but I answered anyway). as for SCS, I am not sure, think its been updated @DavidW?

    edited to change misinformation!

oh! Ooops... hehe. Don't ask me anything

Thanks a lot for the quick replies! I think I was a little unclear in my question. What I was asking was if ascension will install without problems if you install it after the bg2:ee versions of scs and bg2 tweaks or if it needs to be installed first.

A rough install order is: quests, then NPCs, then tweaks. So SCS should go very late in the install order, and Ascension should go early.

If you check the Mod Compatibility thread, the mods are listed in recommended install order. :)

I hadn't caught that. If so, can you swap Rogue Rebalancing and SCS? - both I and avenger_RR think RR needs to go before SCS. (http://www.shsforums.net/topic/27171-comprehensive-compatibility-guide-and-recommended-install-order/)

@DavidW What's the difference just out of curiosity? Does something get overwritten if RR goes after SCS? Because the RR readme specifically mentions that it should go after SCS if I remember correctly.

@StoneSwords: I don't actually know. I just know that RR itself says on its compatibility thread to install SCS afterwards. (And by default SCS should be installed as late as possible, so unless another mod specifically wants to go after SCS it's generally best to put it late.)

ok, good info to know then.

@DavidW Done! Cheers :) This probably needs to be updated in the BWP guide as well, though I'm not sure who's in charge of that at the moment.

For those of you who are relatively new to modding BGII and install orders, check out the Big World install PDF v13 (as LiamEsler mentioned the BWP guide) :

    http://www.shsforums.net/files/category/72-big-world-project/?sort_order=ASC&sort_key=file_name&num=10&st=10

It list nearly every single mods for BG and BGII with the best install order possible for the least conflict. I've always use this as a general guide before BGEE came along.
