Am i allowed to..

Rob entire villages and Baldurs Gate blind while playing good group with paladin as mainchar.

Lets say that after a good days work i send my party to inn to lick their wounds and have a mug of ale. Imoen, the rascal she is, goes for evening walk while the rest of the party stays at the inn.

During this walk she perhaps enters few houses and empties them from their gold and jewels. After returning to inn she mentions none of this to her dull goody two-shoes knight brother.

I can justify it like that yes? Or should i just give up and go evil >:(

Pickpocketing doesn't usually lower your Reputation. Of course, if you fail to pickpocket and the target goes hostile, and you kill them, that counts as murder - and if your Reputation goes too low, your paladin will fall and lose his powers.

well it isn't your goody two shoes paladin doing the deed so I say so :)
however, i am not sure neutral good Imoen robs commoners blind either. i like to rob the rich nobles who should share their wealth though :)

Well, you could justify it like that, I guess.

If the Amnish guards come looking for you though, I hear if you bring them the girl they'll wipe away the debt.

Sure you can justify it like that. Gotta be careful about wiping your tracks, though, Paladins have a nose for that sort of thing. Once they smell out Immy's mischief, don't hesitate to... chastise her.

    Ah, the innuendo. Lovely.

Maybe Imoen knows she is good at swiping things and (like Alora) gets joy out of it. Doesn't mean she isn't a good character.

That makes sense. Those damn rich folk. Always ripping off poor people. Imoen will show them. The fancier the house, greater the temptation. I guess she can control her urges and stay out of poor commoners homes.

Gotta make sure her brother doesnt find out. jeez, dunno whats with that guy. Real righteous jerk sometimes.

I like to play my paladin as this. She won't let Immy steal a few gold pieces unless it's above a 100. She will let Immy take anything useful that we might need adventuring. Beside's those potions of healing wands of lighting and spells scrolls are helping the world more in my parties inventory compared to some random guys desk/chest/drawer/bookshelf/etc.

I don't think a good-aligned character would rob anyone unless they were evil, especially if that party is led by a Lawful Good character. Of course that is my interpretation and, as in any ethical discussion, ymmv.

Also, how many chests and houses do you need to rob in this game? By the time you get to Baldur's Gate a high-reputation party has so much money they can't even spend it all.

That makes playing an ethically murky character fun and distinct from a goody two-shoes (and vice versa), imo.

A Paladin wouldn't rob anyone. A good character can definitely be roleplayed to rob - Robin Hood, Jean Val John, Batman (effectively robs his shareholders by diverting company assets to crime fighting instead of reinvesting or paying dividends), etc.
