transition

Been away a very long time and couldn't find this topic(at least not in the words I tried). I was wondering how the team will handle the transition between BG1 and BG2(EE obviously). Will it be the standard finish game, final save then load BGII and start or has there been any thought into making an instantaneous, continuous and smooth transition between the 2. It's not a do or else thing lol it's a minor thing that I realize may be more trouble than it's worth but thought I'd ask anyways.

I think it will be the standard approach. Personally, I thought the smoother transition with BGT was a big selling point of that mod in addition to all the carry-over from BG1 (if you give tomes to characters they carry over; they come over with whatever spells they actually learned in BG1; etc.). I was sad to hear they wouldn't be making more of a transition with the two games being enhanced in a short time period as two parts of one larger project.

    Missed opportunity, IMO.

No biggie to me and there was a bit of a cheat *cough* workaround to not losing your BG1 items in BG2, but assuming I want to do it that way(I only used it on my like 10th replay or so with the originals) will it actually still work with EE series. This is actually considered a HUGE cheat by some, which is why I'm saying nothing or elaborating on any details.

I read somewhere that they were removing that exploit. We'll find out soon enough!

Yeah, I believe it was put out by the devs that that specific exploit was no longer possible in EE

For me, the benefit of a better transition wouldn't be about equipment but about development of the character to date. If Edwin learned Dimension Door in BG1, then he knows it in BG2 - etc. That was possibly my favorite part of the BGT mod.

Might sound funny coming from someone who's used it(though I did confess only on my 10th or so play through) It's good that they've removed it. It removes any temptation I may have had on my next 10th play through lol. cheers folks and hope you enjoy it as much as I know I will.
