Time for dumb question...

Hi!
When I installed BGEE I got a nice icon on my desktop. To start BG2EE I have to open up the Beamdog launcher. Is it possible to get an icon for BG2EE as well? /J

    Yes, go into your harddrive in the beamdog folder, find BG2EE and find the bg2.exe or whatever its called. It'll be some sort of baldurs gate 2.exe (look for the .exe file) and right click and create shortcut to desktop.

    You got the icon because you downloaded and installed BGEE using the standalone installer/launcher from Beamdog.com - you appear to have downloaded and installed BG2EE from the Beamdog steamlike app thing. No icon because you have to open that and launch from there every time if you use that thing.

    It's why I don't use it.

    It makes the process soooo much longer than it needs to be.

    I downloaded BG2EE direct from the site and am installing it now and ive got a shiny icon.

    Next dumb question - where the f*** is the folder? I installed BG2EE on a specific hd but now I can't find it. WTF?!?!?!

    You don't need to use the launcher. It downloads the game to your harddrive. Like I stated, you can find it in your C drive by default under beamdog > games folders.

    Nope, that directory is only 230 mb. Where's the rest?

    @Dee (or any other dev)
    This time around I used the stand alone launcher and the game has installed itself to god know where on my hd (anywhere but where I wanted it). How do I:
    a) get rid of this version?
    b) download the normal version where the game actually installs itself where I want it and where I can find it?

    Well the standalone version is stored under C(or whatever your default drive is):\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition. There is an uninstall executable there if you wish to uninstall it. You can likely uninstall the Beamdog version from within the Beamdog client itself if it's anything like steam. There's also the option of clicking your start button, selecting control panel, clicking uninstall program, and then finding it in your list of programs. If you're using Windows 8 then.... I'm so sorry.
