First Time Downloading from Beamdog? Download the Client!

So... this maybe more obvious for others. But as a first time user, it did not occur to me that I should download the Beamdog Client first, and then use THAT to download BG 2 EE.

I pre-ordered the game so long ago, I assumed that when I signed up to the website, I got the client at the same time, or that I'd download the client as I downloaded the game.

So I was struggling away on 20-50KB/s for almost 2 hrs before I tried to download again using the Client...

Bam! Now I got around 300-400 KB/s.

I wouldnt, I cant find any installation directory for the game after installing it through the beamdog client and now have to download the whole game again through the standalone installer just so I can use EE keeper.

Also I was just getting 180-200 KB/s download speed through the beamdog client, the standalone is dowloading at 350 KB/s.

Standalone installation and game directory or nothing for this game.

Surely that's an isolated issue... Did your download complete? Did anything interrupt the process? Did you change the default settings? Seems like a rather strange problem. I don't see how 2.6GBs of data can just disappear. I'm guessing you've tried a simple search?

If you made a note of hard drive space, and find you are 2.6GBs down, then the files have got to be SOMEWHERE.

Yea, the Beamdog client is crap for installing the game:

Does not put it in the specified directory.
